Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta Announces Dennis Dean as 2011 Honorary Chair

Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta is pleased to announce that Dennis Dean, the creative force behind one of Atlanta’s top catering and events companies, as the Honorary Chair for the 19th annual fashion show and charity event. Once again benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF), Jeffrey Fashion Cares Atlanta will be hosted by acclaimed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky and held on Monday, August 29 beginning at 7 p.m. in a stunning high-rise in the 12th & Midtown development located at Peachtree and 12th Street.

Fashion Cares Co-Chair, Lila Hertz says, “We are thrilled to present Dennis Dean with this honor.  Over the years, he has given to Fashion Cares generously and graciously!  He was our unanimous choice!”

Dennis Dean, the president and CEO of Dennis Dean: A Catering Company, developed his love of food as a young boy in his grandmother’s kitchen in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  He spent his summers on the family farm, learning how produce, meats and grains were cultivated and harvested. Dean developed a deep-seated respect for the earth and everything it yields, and learned that there is no greater reward at the end of a hard day’s work than sitting around the dinner table with family and friends enjoying the very fruits of one’s labor.  Today, it’s the driving force behind his company. Using only the finest ingredients, Dean’s culinary team creates inspired dishes, artfully prepared for the enjoyment of family and friends in surroundings both elegant and casual. Through his creative vision and business acumen, Dean’s company has enjoyed tremendous growth and success during one of the worst economic downturns of the century. Opening his doors in 2001 in the aftermath of 9/11, Dean’s drive and determination mirrored that of a nation determined to succeed. A decade later, Dennis Dean boasts a client list of Atlanta’s top corporate, retail, social and non-profit entities. Dean is frequently called upon for entertaining segments on local news and morning shows and is often quoted in business and social publications on catering and hospitality industry trends.  And while his company has enjoyed solid and steady annual growth, Dean is adamant about quality over quantity. “I don’t want to be the biggest, just the best,” he maintains. And it’s that very philosophy that has allowed Dean to maintain a reputation for culinary excellence. Not only has Dean earned a stellar reputation within the culinary community, but he has also become well known for the causes he supports. In addition to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Atlanta AIDS Fund, Dean has donated in excess of $500,000 over the past decade to various organizations that assist women, children and animals in need.
